Description
This beautiful new Kantha kit is of the traditional hedgerow plants, the cow parsley. The design features three cow parsley stems alongside four different types of hedgerow grasses. It is a new design as the original one was so very popular. It is stitched onto pale blue cotton fabric and includes perlé 8 and perlé 12 threads along with a thinner cotton 50wt thread for the background stitching. It is suitable for all level of stitchers as there are full instructions and stitch diagrams included in the kit. All you need to find is an erasable fabric marking pen to trace the pattern and tacking thread to join the three fabric layers together. I can see the paper pattern behind the pale blue fabric but you might find it easier to
use a light box or hold it up against a window.
The kit is stitched using the techniques of Kantha embroidery which uses a running stitch to form the flowers and grasses. A white perlé 8 is used to make the cow parsley flowers really stand out. Kantha work is so relaxing and is the original slow stitching as it has been stitched for around 600 years.
The stitch size of this kit is 27cm x 19cm
