Description
Shibori is a traditional Japanese resist dyeing technique, to create the resist you will fold, twist, stitch and clamp fabrics in a variety of ways to make amazing patterns in the fabrics once dyed. Throughout the day you will work with Angela to discover different ways to clamp, wrap, stitch
and fold your white fabric ready for the dye pot. Some of the techniques will be fast and others will need you to relax and make running stitches with the perle 8 thread in different patterns which will then be pulled up and tied together before dyeing.
You will leave the workshop with full instructions about how to dye your fabrics at home, how to prepare the dye and rinse the fabrics before you admire your work. Suggestions are also given as to what you can do with your shibori dyed fabrics once completed.
This workshop starts at 10:00am and finishes at 4:00pm.
