Description
This Kantha Summer Hare Kit contains all the threads, fabrics and instructions to stitch up an image of a hare running through summer fields. Due to the nature of kantha you have to trace the full size pattern onto the white cotton fabric before starting to stitch.
Once upon a time, not so long ago, Angela saw a large hare running in front of her car. It’s fur gleamed in the evening sun as it raced past the fields. It ran alongside the grass verge, past fields of potato plants with their delicate pink flowers, alongside a golden field of wheat, past a field of cabbages and finally running into a field full of peas before disappearing out of sight. This image stayed with Angela and she went home to draw out this scene and “Summer hare” came to life.
This brand new kit tells the story of a moment in time, a chance encounter of seeing a majestic hare race alongside the multicoloured fields of Lincolnshire.
The kit is stitched onto a Makower white fabric, under this is two layers of cotton muslin. Kantha is stitched onto three layers of fabric which helps the stitches to sit nicely and it helps you to hide threads when finishing off. You will just use a running stitch, whipped running stitch and detached chain stitch to complete this kit. The nature of kantha is that there is no set stitch size but the more you do it the more your stitches become even. It also means that this kit is suitable for a wide variety of stitch abilities.
